What inspired you to start Mobile Massage & Wellness, and how has the journey been since launching in 2015?
I started Mobile Massage & Wellness (MMW) to provide people with a more convenient way to prioritize self-care through massage. Since launching in 2015, we’ve evolved to offer not only massage but also yoga and personal training. We’ve even added an office space one day a week, giving our clients even more opportunities to take care of themselves.
With your background in luxury spas, how does your approach to massage and wellness set you apart?
Beyond just delivering exceptional massages, we focus on creating a full experience from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. We incorporate elements like essential oils, heat, and relaxing music, and we ensure everything is left spotless, allowing clients to fully relax and enjoy their session.
What made you choose a mobile model for your business, and how has it helped make wellness more accessible?
I wanted to make wellness accessible to everyone—whether it’s a stay-at-home parent or someone navigating the corporate hustle. Time is one of our most valuable resources, and by bringing the experience directly to our clients, we help them reclaim more of it.
You offer a blend of deep tissue, sports massage, Swedish, and Thai techniques. How do you customize each session for your clients?
Customization starts with listening to our clients during their consultation and being attuned to how their body responds to different pressures and techniques. Each session is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring a truly personalized experience.
As a small, women-owned business, what have been some of the most rewarding moments in your journey?
It’s hard to narrow it down, but the connections we’ve built and the noticeable positive changes in our clients stand out the most. Moms, in particular, hold a special place in my heart. Being able to pour love into them and help them feel cared for brings me so much joy.
How has the demand for mobile wellness services evolved over the years, and what trends are you seeing now?
People value convenience and are willing to invest in it. We’re seeing more clients commit to regular sessions, and there’s a growing demand for workplace wellness. Companies are recognizing the need for wellness in the corporate world, and people are getting creative with incorporating wellness into events of all kinds.
You partner with Orli in La Jolla to provide wellness services to guests. How did that collaboration come about?
We originally met one of the owners, Max, as a client. A few weeks later, he reached out about working together, and it’s been a great collaboration ever since.
What can Orli guests expect when booking a session with Mobile Massage & Wellness?
Guests can expect a skilled and passionate massage therapist who will customize their session to fit their needs. We also offer guidance on ways to continue prioritizing self-care beyond the session.
What’s next for Mobile Massage & Wellness? Are there any new offerings or expansions on the horizon?
In January, we launched The Lotus Room, our new studio in San Diego, where we’re introducing signature treatments. We’ve also expanded to Phoenix, AZ. Looking ahead, we plan to continue collaborating with brands and individuals who align with our mission—making self-care more convenient and accessible.
How can people support Mobile Massage & Wellness and incorporate more personalized wellness into their lives?
The best way to support us is by sharing our services with anyone who could benefit from them. We offer mobile services at homes, hotels, workplaces, and events—helping people relax, recover, and stay active. Whether it’s booking a massage, joining a personal training session, or inviting us to add a wellness component to an event, we love supporting our clients’ ongoing wellness journeys.
As a La Jolla local, what are some of your favorite spots to eat and unwind?
I love Trilogy for a rooftop yoga class and a delicious vegan bite. Bird Rock Coffee is another favorite—perfect for grabbing a coffee and taking a stroll along the beach.
What do you love most about being part of the La Jolla community?
The small-town feel. La Jolla is such a beautiful and happy place—you can feel it everywhere, from the locals to the visitors. It’s a special community to be a part of.
