House Rules
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Orli | La Jolla (“Orli”, “we”, “our”). We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience. As our hotel guests, by signing your hotel registration card at check-in, you are agreeing that you will be responsible for yourself and any of your guests’ adherence to our hotel policies and procedures.
Check-in:
Check-in is 4pm. Orli offers automated check-in via custom access codes, so if you do not require assistance, you may check in at any time after 4pm using your code on the keypad. However, if you plan to check in after 10pm, please let us know in advance so that we can ensure your check-in will still be seamless. Orli does not have overnight staff. If you check-in after 10pm and have any issues, we may not be immediately able to assist you.
Check-out:
Check-out time is 12pm. If you require a later check-out, please inquire using our concierge app. Late check-out is subject to availability and does incur a fee. If you check-out after 12pm, this fee will be automatically applied.
Cleaning:
Orli | La Jolla is a small historcial property and as such we try to minimize guest interaction with housekeeping so that Orli feels like a high-end, undisturbed home stay. With that said, we offer mid-stay cleaning for all guests if desired. If you would like additional cleaning, please reach out to the Orli Concierge and we will do our best to assist.
Parking:
Orli La Jolla is a historic landmark tucked into the heart of a seaside village and, thus, we are unable to offer on-property guest parking. Parking is available at a local parking structure for a fee of $25/night. There are two loading spots in front of the hotel where you can unload. Street parking is available overnight from 6pm – 8am and two hour parking is available during the day from 8am – 6pm. Keep in mind this is enforced by local law enforcement. One ADA parking spot located to the rear of the property.
Guest’s Belongings:
Our doors operate on electronic locks. The guest is responsible for locking their door behind them if they leave the room. For your convenience and protection, safes are provided in your room to store any valuables. Management is not responsible for any loss or damage to the guest’s belongings.
Pets:
We love pets! We welcome well-behaved dogs under 50lbs with a one-time fee of $100 per stay. Dogs are required to be on leash at all times and are not allowed on indoor common area furniture. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your pet so we may assign your room accordingly. We have a limited number of rooms available for dogs and we want to ensure both our guests and their pets are comfortable. We also offer a pet package to make you and your pets stay more enjoyable! If interested, please inquire on our concierge app. All pets must be attended at all times. You remain responsible for any damages caused by your pet to the room or the property. Other pets are not permitted.
No Smoking Policy:
We are a non-smoking property. Smoking of any kind is prohibited both in the rooms and on hotel grounds. A cleaning charge of $250 will be added to any room where there was smoking.
Minor children:
Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times and shall not be left unattended on the hotel property at any time. In the event that a minor unaccompanied by an adult seeks accommodations, the adult, who registers for the room, assumes full liability for any and all charges and other obligation incurred by the minor for the accommodations, food and beverages, and any other services we may provide, as well as any and all damages caused by the minor to any person or property.
Quiet hours:
Quiet hours for the property are 11pm to 7am. Please be respectful of our other guests by keeping noise level during these hours to a minimum.
Common area and courtyard hours:
All common areas are open to our guests 24 hours a day. You may use these areas at any time as long as you are respectful of our other guests. Excessive noise is not permitted at any time. 11pm – 7am are quiet hours. If you use the common areas during quiet hours, please be extra mindful of your noise.
No in-room party policy:
Orli enforces a no in-room party policy to ensure we can protect the hotel and ensure the comfort of our guests at all times. In the event of a disturbance, one warning will be given to reduce noise. If the warning is not followed, a penalty fee will occur. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the premises, in which case no refund will be granted for your stay.
ADA Compliance:
We have two ADA compliant guest rooms and we have made sure our lobby bathroom is also ADA accessible. Our ADA entrance is through the alleyway. There is also one ADA parking spot on property, located at the rear of the building. Please inform us if you need ADA parking or an ADA room so we can ensure you have the best experience possible. Deposit:
A full room rate deposit is required at time of booking. We require proper identification associated with the name on the reservation as well as the payment method. Payment may be made by acceptable credit or debit card. Guests paying by credit card acknowledge that their card will be preauthorized for all room and tax charges. Additional authorization is taken to secure guest incidental charges. All unused authorized funds are released at time of check-out.
Room Rate:
The advertised room rate does not include taxes and fees. Rates are subject to change.
Taxes and Fees:
Orli charges a Transient Occupancy Tax of 10.5% as mandated by the state of California. We charge a “Historic Preservation Fee” of $25 per booking. This helps us support the ongoing preservation of this landmark Irving Gill property so it can be enjoyed for generations to come. We also charge a $35 hospitality fee that covers on-site amenities and services as well as ensuring we can provide team members with access to healthcare and mental health resources.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand that plans can unexpectedly change. Reservations may be canceled with a full refund 7 days prior to your check-in time. Those made 7 days or less from your check-in time will result in forfeiture of 50% of your deposit. Those made 72 hours or less will result in full forfeiture of your depost. For group bookings, or reservations that are part of a group booking, cancellations must be made within 14 days of your check-in time. Cancellations made within 14 days risk a forfeiture of the total booking. For hotel buyouts, cancellations must be made 30 days before your check-in time. Cancellations made within 30 days result in a forfeiture of the total booking.
Damage:
Guests are responsible for treating hotel property and amenities with respect. The person or persons responsible for the reservation will be charged for the replacement or repair of hotel property or guest rooms, including damages caused by guests or pets.
Tchotchke Clause:
The Orli design team spent a painstaking amount of time picking each and every design element, from the books to the décor to the – you guessed it – the tchotchkes. We understand some of these items may be so cute you simply have to take them home. And we don’t blame you, but we will charge you for them. If there are any items you love and would like to purchase for yourself, please inquire with our concierge and they will do their best to assist you.
Soft goods and other items:
If you fall in love with any of the items located on the property, including but not limited to, towels, robes, linens, mugs, glassware, etc…, please inquire with our concierge and we will point you to where they can be purchased. If you take them from the property, a charge will be applied to replace the item.
Cameras:
For your protection and ours, we have installed cameras within the common areas of the hotel and around the exterior of the property.
Complimentary Bikes:
We offer complimentary bikes for guests to use during their stay. Please be advised that one needs to comply with local regulations about bike usage as well as being aware and following all required street signage to ensure one’s safety. Orli La Jolla LLC does not remain liable for biker’s safety during use and as such releases itself from any and all liability during guest use.
