Q&A with Table Collective

March 24, 2025

We sat down with Jacqueline, the founder of Table Collective, a women-owned business dedicated to creating meaningful connections through curated grazing experiences. Rooted in a love for bringing people together, Table Collective offers thoughtfully selected artisan cheeses, high-quality meats, and fresh organic produce. In this Q&A, we discuss the inspiration behind the brand, its collaboration with Orli and the team’s favorite local spots in the La Jolla community.

What made you decide to focus the growth of your business in La Jolla?

My family and I are proud to call La Jolla home, so our primary focus has always been to grow and serve our local community.

You recently rebranded from Picnic Grazing La Jolla to Table Collective. What inspired the change, and how does it reflect the evolution of your business?

Rebranding to Table Collective reflects our journey and the deeper purpose that drives us: creating moments of joy and connection around the table.

Whether in my own life or in the lives of others, some of our most treasured memories are made around the table—whether it’s a first date, a family dinner, a wedding, or a game night. It’s about coming together, sharing a space, and making lasting memories.

You collaborate with Orli in La Jolla on intimate gatherings and guest experiences on property. How did that partnership come about, and what has been your favorite part of working together?

The client experience is so important to me, and I truly value working with others who share that same commitment. I first reached out to Orli for this reason—aside from being a beautiful boutique hotel, they genuinely prioritize the guest experience and go above and beyond to incorporate even the smallest details. I believe these carefully considered elements are what truly set a brand apart, creating memorable moments.

In any business, especially one that is client-focused, the goal should always be to craft an experience that leaves a lasting impression. Orli is one of my favorite partners to work with!

What can Orli guests expect from a Table Collective experience?

Guests can look forward to a thoughtfully curated box, featuring seasonally selected artisan cheeses, high-quality meats, and fresh organic produce, all beautifully packaged with our signature ribbon. My goal is to enhance their experience at Orli in a meaningful way.

As a small, women-owned business, what has been the most rewarding part of your journey?

The most rewarding part of this journey has been the opportunity to foster connection and contribute to memorable experiences. It’s incredibly fulfilling to provide a product that brings a little joy to people’s lives.

What’s next for Table Collective?

Next on the list is adding some fun gifting options to the mix. One of the great things about Table Collective is that we have the flexibility to create unique, food-forward or kitchen-centered gifts that don’t have to revolve around cheese to make sense. Thoughtfully packaged gifts are always fun to give and receive, and we’re excited to explore what that next chapter looks like!

How can people support Table Collective?

Word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways to support a small business. If you’ve experienced Table Collective, sharing your experience with others means the world to us! And if you haven’t had the chance to try us yet, we’d love for you to think of us for your next event.

As a local in La Jolla, what are some of your favorite spots to eat and unwind?

I’m all about Wayfarer for pastries, and their pizza nights are pretty great too! I love Parakeet’s lattes, almond croissants, and friendly staff. El Pescador has the best fish sandwich, and on a warm, sunny day, you can’t go wrong with a margarita at Puesto!

What do you love most about being part of the La Jolla community?

I love the strong sense of community here. Local businesses genuinely support one another, and being part of groups like the La Jolla Merchants Association and Keep It in La Jolla has been such a wonderful experience. Everyone is committed to lifting each other up.

On a personal level, I appreciate the walkability of the village, the La Jolla Light (which is both informative and entertaining at times), and, of course, our beautiful beaches.
